This people-free shot of Turret Arch through Window Arch at Arches National Park in Utah was made possible by a sweet little German woman… sweet unless you happen to get into her shot. Upon which moment she was transformed into a fountain of verbal beratement tinted with a German accent that would make the most hardened of tourists slink away in fear and shame. I’m not sure if I agree with it, but I sure wasn’t going to tell her that! Instead I quietly focused on taking as many shots of this scene as I could.
